The Haptic series consists of six tables made of stone and metal, strong and dense materials, finely chiseled they seem light and delicate. Playing on this dual perception, the table plate, placed on an elegant airy structure, suddenly appears to float. On the surface of granite the subtle differences of height, from raw to polished textures, reveal particles of different sizes that can be appreciated visually but also to the touch. Seen up close these particles may seem random, chaotic, but from afar they form various movements where a logic emerges. Haptic explores the link between visual and tactile perception by questioning our automatisms linked to our sight.

« Haptic (adj.) from the Greek ἄπτομαι (haptomai) means to touch and designates the science of touch. Haptic perception results from the stimulation of the skin when the moving hand comes into contact with an object. The hand and fingers follow its contours to appreciate its shape. »
